Secure Regenerating Codes Using Linear Regenerating Codes and the All-or-Nothing Transform
This paper proposes secure regenerating codes that are composed of non-secure regenerating codes and a new all-or-nothing transform. Unlike the previous analysis of secure regenerating codes, the security of the proposed codes is analyzed in the sense of the indistinguishability. The advantage of the proposed codes is that the overhead caused by the security against eavesdropping is much less than that of previous secure regenerating codes. The security of the proposed codes against eavesdropping mainly depends on the new all-or-nothing transform.This is a product of research which was financially supported in part by the Kansai University Outlay Support for Establish Research Centers, 2015 “Further development of identification technology based on device fingerprints.
A Chosen IV Attack Using Phase Shifting Equivalent Keys against DECIM v2
DECIM v2 is a stream cipher submitted to the ECRYPT stream cipher project (eSTREAM) and ISO/IEC 18033-4. No attack against DECIM v2 has been proposed yet. In this paper, we propose a chosen IV attack against DECIM v2 using a new equivalent key class. Our attack can recover an -bit key with a time complexity of when all bits of the IV are zero. This result is the best one on DECIM v2
A Pseudorandom-Function Mode Based on Lesamnta-LW and the MDP Domain Extension and Its Applications
This paper discusses a mode for pseudorandom functions (PRFs) based on the hashing mode of Lesamnta-LW and the domain extension called Merkle-Damgård with permutation (MDP). The hashing mode of Lesamnta-LW is a plain Merkle-Damgård iteration of a block cipher with its key size half of its block size. First, a PRF mode is presented which produces multiple independent PRFs with multiple permutations and initialization vectors if the underlying block cipher is a PRP. Then, two applications of the PRF mode are presented. One is a PRF with minimum padding. Here, padding is said to be minimum if the produced message blocks do not include message blocks only with the padded sequence for any non-empty input message. Artificial Metrics of Electric Devices and Their Applications
An Identification of artificial objects is lately receiving much attention for two reasons: the problem of counterfeiting of artificial objects, such as goods that use brand names, in international trade and the necessity of achieving a secure communication in the Internet of Things (IoT), which is a network of artificial objects that are embedded with network connectivity. To identify artificial objects, “fingerprints” of artificial objects, introduced during manufacturing and non-separable characteristics from artificial objects themselves, have to be discovered. This article reports fingerprints for acceleration sensors, flash memory, non-Foster matching circuits and elemental techniques for identifying fingerprints or measuring fingerprints with stability. This article demonstrates an encoding method for recording fingerprints securely in a distributed storage system
